General Manager/Head Route Setter/Co-Founder
Over his twenty plus years of climbing, Cory has done nearly every job you can do in a climbing gym. However, most of his background is in routesetting. In that role, he gets to play choreographer and interactive installation artist. He has practiced this art everywhere from walls he has built in garages, apartments, and backyards to the national competitive stage. As much as he loves creating climbing in the gym, his real passion is being in the mountains applying his practice to the challenges the earth has crafted. He has developed hundreds of boulder problems and dozens of sport routes around Tucson and he has his sights set on more. The climbing gym is the foundation for Cory’s outdoor pursuits. He wants to share the fitness, camaraderie, and lifestyle that can be fostered by the climbing gym with as many people as he can. If you see him be sure to say hello and tell him about your last or, even better, your next adventure.

Originally from a musical background, Marco was able to travel the country as a performing member and manager of the prestigious Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. After studying music in college, he decided that his passion was in climbing and applied the knowledge and background he had in music to the rock climbing industry. Marco came to us from Oklahoma City where he was the Head Route setter and Assistant Coach at Threshold Climbing + Fitness. He sees the art and science of route setting and enjoys the challenge it brings. His passion and love for creating new and exciting problems show every new set.
Another one of Marco's interests is rock climbing gear and equipment. He has an extensive knowledge of the various climbing companies and climbing gear in general. He enjoys helping both experienced and new climbers climb harder and better with the proper equipment.
Marco's favorite climbing destinations include Rock Creek, Arkansas or climbing locally at the Farmhouse. Say hello or introduce yourself if you see him in the gym or at the crag.
Carlton feels that life is most rewarding when there is a challenge to conquer. His determination earned him a state championship in Tennis his senior year of high school. He also played at a collegiate level at BYU-Hawaii. After a two year volunteer mission, graduating from dental school, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency, Carlton had time to find a new challenging hobby. He wanted to find something his whole family could all share together. That's when he fell in love with rock climbing. Rock Solid Climbing became a vision that would make it possible to enjoy everything he loves together: family, friends, physical challenge, and fun!
Lindsey comes from an adventurous family who could often be found hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, rappelling, or kayaking in and around Southern Utah. While a college student she enjoyed teaching dance and fitness classes and performing on dance teams. After attending university for a while, Lindsey took a break from college to volunteer at orphanages in Ecuador and to do an 18 month volunteer mission in British Columbia. Following her graduation from college, she and her husband Carlton started a family. They now have four beautiful and energetic children. Having a fun place for the whole family to climb and work out year round in Northwest Tucson was a big motivating factor for starting Rock Solid Climbing.
